Great Wolf Lodge

Last fall, I bought a groupon for Great Wolf Lodge.  Unfortunately, we couldn't use it in the right time frame so we did lose some of the value.  It was for a 2 night stay in Traverse City.  However, we could still use the money we purchased the groupon for towards a stay at any Great Wolf.  Originally we had planned to go to Joel's brother's house in Arlington on his week off and then stop overnight at Great Wolf Lodge.  But then Joel ended up having to work the Saturday we hoped to leave.  Since he had to work an overnight,we wouldn't have to leave until Sunday.  Therefore we would have only had a 2 days with JP and Katie before we had to go to Great Wolf Lodge.  We decided to postpone our trip to the east, but keep our overnight at Great Wolf Lodge.  It was so much fun!

We left Thursday late morning and arrived at Great Wolf Lodge a little before our home was ready.  But, they let you go into the water park before your room is ready, so we found a parking spot and got our swimming gear out.

The amount we paid for the groupon would not cover 2 nights once it expired.  So instead of putting a lot more money toward the stay we used the extra money to upgrade to a fireplace room. Which, Kyper loved!  We also opted for a late check out so Anja could get a nap the next day.  You can stay the whole day after you check out of your room.

Also, to save a little money, we found out there would be a microwave, so for two of the meals we had brought along microwave dinners.  This was a treat for Kyper!

Kyper loved the shallow pool.  Eventually, we convinced him that the lazy river was also shallow too.  He didn't want to ride in a tube, but d love walking in it.  Anja loved riding in the tubes with us.  She also liked going up the play structure with her daddy and getting splashed and rained on.  Kyper only went up a few times, but didn't really love it.  He was too afraid that the big bucket would splash him while he was on there.  He did play with a few water toys on the ground when the bucket wasn't typing though.  We all liked the hot tub. Joel and I each enjoyed the adult only one at one point, but they also had one for families with kids, so we enjoyed that hot tub altogether.  Joel and I also swapped spots in the hotel room while kids rested, so we could each go down a few slides.  (In that sense we decided it would be fun to go with another couple since then we could do a few things like that together while the other couple watched kids and then we could swap spots.)
